McCarty Architects is seeking an entry-level Intern Architect to join our team in Tupelo, Mississippi. This full-time, in-person position is ideal for an architecture graduate seeking broad project experience, meaningful responsibility, and a clear path toward licensure.
This is not a narrow production role. You will experience projects from early planning and design through construction while developing the technical knowledge and professional judgment needed to become a well-rounded architect.
Our work includes education, healthcare, civic, commercial, religious, and community-focused projects throughout Mississippi and the Southeast. McCarty is large enough to pursue complex, meaningful work while remaining small enough for emerging professionals to receive direct mentorship, access firm leadership, and earn increasing responsibility.
What You’ll Do
- Support projects from programming and conceptual design through construction administration
- Develop plans, presentations, 3D models, renderings, and construction documents
- Produce coordinated project documentation using Revit and AutoCAD
- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, engineers, consultants, and contractors
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, field observations, and construction-phase communication
- Research building codes, materials, products, details, and project requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Professional degree in architecture from a NAAB-accredited program
- Zero to three years of architectural firm or internship experience
- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Strong design thinking, technical aptitude, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively
- Curiosity, humility, initiative, and a willingness to take ownership
- Interest in completing AXP requirements and pursuing architectural licensure
